Long term care lewisporte

Located in the Town of Lewisporte on Centennial Drive, the project was completed in two phases. The first phase consists of 51 long-term care beds in a new two storey, 3,646 m² structure which was attached to the south side of the existing nursing home (North Haven Manor). The structure includes resident care and emergency services. A 480 m² duplex bungalow with 12 dementia care beds was also constructed adjacent to the west of the complex.

Phase two included the demolition of the main floor of the existing complex and the renovation and reuse of the existing 196 m² basement. On the footprint of the existing building, a new one storey, 1600 m² structure was built. The structure included material managements, housekeeping, laundry, occupational therapy, plant, administration, diagnostics and dietary. In order to undertake the healthcare extension, three existing cottages (four units per cottage) were moved to allow for new construction and parking requirements. Landscaping was an integral part of the site design.
